The Meeting of Asia and Pacific Women in Science and Technology (MAPWiST) aims to build a “Map for Policy Development” of action plans towards gender equality in STEM for Asia and the Pacific nations. In conjunction with 2019 MAPWiST, KWSE will hold the YWS Camp which is an annual academic conference for future woman leaders in science and technology.
The roles of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) have been a great inspiration to the participants of the Asia Nation Network (APNN) program. The Meeting of Asia and Pacific Women in Science and Technology (MAPWiST) aims to build a “Map for Policy Development” of action plans towards gender equality in STEM for Asia and the Pacific nations. This international policy forum is geared towards the discussion on the present conditions and policies of Gender equality as well as to encourage the exchange of information on the results of the international survey on key issues for STEM professionals in Asia & Pacific nations.
Every year, the KWSE hosts the Young Woman Scientist Camp (YWS Camp), which aim to nurture and strengthen the capabilities of the next generation of young woman scientists and engineers, and operates the Smart Sister Program, a year-round program. The YWS Camp, which started in 2012, strives to build a global network among, strengthen the research capacity of and cultivate the global leadership capabilities of domestic and foreign woman scientist and engineers residing in Korea, as well as young woman scientists and engineers in the Asia-Pacific region.
